Burst Hot Water Pipe in Cammeray
“That meal was delicious!” Jake said again as he patted his full stomach. He had overeaten but couldn’t help himself when it came to Sonya’s roast dinners. Even though he had finished his meal an hour ago, he still felt like he was about to burst. Sonya grinned, as she enjoyed preparing Jake his favourite meal.
Their two children had already gone to bed and they were about to head upstairs to do the same thing. As Sonya headed upstairs, she called out for Jake to turn on the dishwasher. Jake inserted the cleaning tablet and pressed the start button.
He was on his way to the stairs when he heard an odd sound. Next a bang exploded, which caused Jake to turn around. His gaze fell upon the dishwasher as water started streaming from it. “Oh Geez!” he yelled as he ran towards the dishwasher. He tried to tip toe through the water and realised that the water was very hot. The hot water pipe must have burst! He realized and decided to turn off the main water supply.
Sonya emerged from the top of the stairs to witness the commotion. “What is going on?” she asked, with fright. Jake informed her of what had happened and said that an emergency plumber would be needed. He grabbed the Cammeray directory and started searching. However, Sonya offered the name of a company that she had heard good things about. Jake asked curiously how she knew of them. Sonya replied that her hairdresser had spoken about them, just the other week. Apparently, they were the best in the area and could be counted on in Neutral Bay, Cremorne, Northbridge, Crows Nest, North Syndey, Wolstonecroft and Waverton.
Jake took her word and decided to give the company a go. He called the business number and found that his call was answered after only one ring. He spoke to them for a few minutes then hung up the phone. “How did it go?” Sonya asked. Jake smiled as he let her know that a hot plumber would be there as soon as possible. “That’s great news,” she commented. They also informed him of hot to shut of the water to the hot water system.
As promised, the plumber arrived after only thirty minutes. Sonya and Jake felt immediate relief as soon as they saw him standing at their Cammeray door. He greeted them enthusiastically and introduced himself as the plumber. They apologized for calling him out at such short notice but he said that he wasn’t bothered at all, by it. They pointed out where the burst pipe was and showed him to the hot water heater.
A short time later the plumber let the couple know that the burst hot water pipe has been repaired. They were thrilled that they would be able to sleep soundly that night and wouldn’t have to worry about their burst pipe in the morning. The plumber turned on the hot water heater.
